Point to consider, (from Ronald Regan) "If a neighbor loses his job it's a recession,
if you lose your job it's a depression."
Last year education was cut 8% and with the expected cuts for the 2009-2010 school year, 16%+, we will have experienced a total of 25% in cuts in 12 months.
If we continue to sit by and say nothing, then we will continue to be stepped on.
NOW is the time to speak out. Please take 30 minutes of your time and do the following:

"CALL TO ACTION"
"Education Cuts Never Heal"
The Florida Legislature is meeting in Tallahassee this week to cut another $2.5 billion from our state's education budget during the January special session. Right now they are proposing to cut another $500,000 from the education budget for THIS YEAR. FASA (Florida Association School Administrators) believes that: Education Cuts Never Heal! That is the message state legislators need to hear from Florida School leaders and parents now. And time is of the essence.
No one knows better than school leaders how the cuts to education have hurt our students and schools. As bad as it's been the last two years; it could get much worse if we don't act now!
We are working to help you do that as fast and as easy as possible. On the FASA website we are creating a new "one-click" link that will allow you to send a single email to every member of the Florida legislature at once. We will also provide talking points; but remember that your personal story and real-life examples carry the most weight. This new Action Alert feature will be ready within the next week.
However, the legislative leadership needs to hear from you now. Please take just a moment to let the following members know what these cuts mean for your students and how badly further cuts will harm our schools. You can email them by clicking the links below.
